In the fall of 2007 several members of the 7th Avenue community decided to meet together to read and discuss books about God, the Christian faith, and interfaith concerns.  They invited Parish Associate Joan Huff to meet with them as her schedule permits.  A core group of 8 continues to meet twice a month on Monday evenings in homes from 7 to 8:30 pm.  They have read books by Bishop Spong, Karen Armstrong, Walter Wink, James Watt and others.  They choose what to read by consensus and put announcements in the weekly bulletin with details, inviting all who are interested to join in the lively discussions.  About 20 readers have participated at least once during the first two years that the Armchair Theologians have met.
