Mission Statement: Companions on the Inner Way is a five-day guided retreat grounded in the Christian Tradition. By honoring body, mind and soul, companions are invited to the inner journey with the Spirit.

March 13-18, 2011 at Serra Retreat Center, Malibu, California with Susan S. Phillips, Ph.D

Topic: “Stop! In the Name of Love …”

Description: Our days together will offer time to retreat, refresh and recreate in good company. The scriptural focus will be on the accounts of Jesus’ post-resurrection appearances to his friends. Together we will catch a glimpse of how we too can live in post-resurrection time.

About our Speaker: Susan has worked in Berkeley, California for many years serving the past 16 as Executive Director of New College Berkeley.  She is also on the faculty of the Diploma in the Art of Spiritual Direction at San Francisco Theological Seminary.

A Typical Companions Retreat includes:

• Lecture/dialogue with various Keynote Speakers
who are respected in the area of Spirituality and Prayer.

• Time of integration, incorporating the body and the arts.

• Small group community around spiritual readings (Lectio Divina)

• Corporate and individual times of silence and contemplation

• Afternoon worship with Eucharist

• Concluding evening prayer service (Compline)

• Various optional activities i.e.: body prayer/t’ai chi, workshops, focus groups, etc.
